Mindfulness Meditation is the simple and direct
practice of observing one’s experience.
It is being present with the mind and body, allowing us to experience sensations, emotions, thoughts and perception with greater clarity. Our minds begin to find freedom from unskillful patterns of self-centeredness and grasping. Our hearts find deeper wisdom and compassion. This process of opening compassionately to ourselves moves from the sitting period to the whole of our lives. As we remain committed to this practice, we find that the awakened heart/mind is there with us in each moment — that it had always been there. We needed merely to realize it.
This practice derives from Buddhist traditions but no special religious beliefs are necessary. Additional tools to support our practice will be introduced such as heart-centered guided meditations and also pure awareness practice which brings greater spaciousness to mind.
There is No Fee for joining hearts and minds with us in meditation, only a willingness to bring kindness to each moment of one’s experience. As your heart permits, you can donate to Dharma Ranch who hosts our sittings. “Do it with Love or not at all.”
This class occurs on most Wednesdays and is facilitated by Celeste Zygmont, a experienced Vipassana practitioner.
